In November I was attending the World Appreciative Inquiry 2009 conference in Kathmandu Nepal. This turned out to be a 'life changing experience'. Meeting people from 40 different countries among the more than 300 participants was really amazing. The focus on strenghts and analysing the successes of the past was the main theme of the conference. During many workshops we learned about all types of examples how appreciative inquiry can make a (huge) difference. We heard some really amazing stories from all parts of the world. After the conference I had the opportunity to visit the Chitwan jungle with special attention to visiting some women village banks in small villages. It was truelly encouraging to see, hear and feel the power that was being exposed by those women who run their own bank for the female habitants of the village. Some pictures can be seen on my facebook page. But I will try to put some in my blog as well.
